June 7, 2010Stonebrook Healthcare Center in Concord has the distinction of being the only facility in California to receive a Silver Quality Award in the American Health Care Association 2010 National Quality Awards competition.
Stonebrook Healthcare Center in Concord has the distinction of being the only facility in California to receive a Silver Quality Award in the American Health Care Association 2010 National Quality Awards competition. This year, 271 nursing facilities and assisted-living communities from across the country applied for the Silver Quality Award. Stonebrook was one of just 39 organizations to receive the recognition.
Silver Award winners must demonstrate a commitment to quality by implementing and maintaining systems that result in continuous improvement. Candidates are judged on various performance standards, including resident-focused excellence, management by innovation, focus on the future and creating value.
“This is a credit to the day-to-day performance of our outstanding staff and their ongoing dedication to our residents,” said Lori Cooper, Stonebrook administrator.
The facility was judged in part on its ability to reduce restraint levels to zero and maintain that standard for several years. Judges also looked at Stonebrook's resident and staff satisfaction surveys, its pain-reduction program and survey scores over the past five years.
“We applaud the staff and leadership of Stonebrook Healthcare Center for demonstrating national distinction in their quest for performance excellence,” said AHCA CEO/President Bruce Yarwood. “ Being judged to be worthy of a Silver Quality Award demonstrates a commitment to a rigorous journey of continuous improvement and a good level of sustainable performance. “
